Welcome to Crafted Behind Bars, where we showcase and sell unique merchandise created by inmates. Prodigal Arts is a registered charity that provides opportunities for prisoners and ex-offenders to produce and sell artwork created in art mentoring sessions and their own time as part of their ongoing rehabilitation. Sep 17, 2020 · Featuring art made by people in prisons and work by nonincarcerated artists concerned with state repression, erasure, and imprisonment, Marking Time: Art in the Age of Mass Incarceration highlights more than 35 artists, including American Artist, Tameca Cole, Russell Craig, James “Yaya” Hough, Jesse Krimes, Mark Loughney, Gilberto Rivera Through art, we challenge stereotypes about incarceration and inspire a more nuanced view of criminal justice — one that values rehabilitation, reentry, and human dignity. C. Our mission is to provide a platform for incarcerated individuals to express their creativity and share their stories with the world. Some programs are offered on a national level (such as the annual PEN Prison Writing Contest), although they are listed by state based on office location.
